For a practical example of token usage, check out this generated sample. This particular sample used approximately 9,500 input and 7,000 output tokens to generate:
- 10 title suggestions
- 3 fully generated posts
- 5 new website page examples
Note: We have not made any refinements to the sample contents
Leverage Your Existing Content
Your content is our context: LitContent learns from your existing website and data. This means that when LitContent generates a new blog post or other content, we send scraped data from your sitemap along with any other provided data to our AI. This ensures that everything that our AI generates is highly relevant, on-brand, and unique to your website. This is what makes LitContent smarter and more creative than a generic AI writing tool. (The data that our AI processes is added towards input token usage.)

What are Tokens? Think of tokens as the building blocks of language that our AI uses. They're like words or pieces of words. When you ask our AI to do something, it "reads" your request and "writes" its response using these tokens. Both the input (your request) and the output (the AI's answer) consume tokens from your plan.
Why a simple request can use many tokens: Even for something as seemingly simple as generating a title, the AI needs a lot of context and instructions to do a good job. It's not just about the small amount of words that you'd find in the title itself. Our AI first needs to process your prompt and instructions, understands the topic (using your provided context and additional information), considers different styles, and may even generate several options internally before presenting you the best one. All of this "thinking" and processing, alongside the extra steps we implement to ensure high-quality output, consume tokens.
Tokens In: The number of tokens used as input to the AI model.
Tokens Out: The number of tokens generated by the AI model.
Context Limit: The maximum number of tokens that can be used in a single request.
The number of posts you can create per month will vary significantly based on your specific usage. Check out our generated sample and it's token usage mentioned above the plans section.
- Complexity and Length: Longer posts with more information will use more tokens.
- AI Features Utilized: Using our AI tools for complex tasks or generating lots of fresh content, will use more tokens than other features like partial AI content rewriting.
- Context Provided: While important for higher quality content generation, the amount of context you provide to the AI (e.g., detailed prompts, existing content or sitemaps for reference usage) directly impacts input token consumption.
- How many times you ask for changes: Every time you edit or ask the AI to try again will use additional tokens.
Therefore, the number of posts you create will change depending on how you use our AI tools. Your plan's token limits are designed to support a wide range of content creation needs.
